Senior Accounting Manager

The Senior Accounting Manager will help with the exciting growth of an Accounting Advisory Firm (our client) and facilitate the business through day-to-day accounting operations, implementation, and management of client's accounting and finance processes.


Responsibilities

  • Execution and Improvement of the Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-end close processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts and preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Ability to act in the capacity of Controller, VP Accounting, VP Finance or other leadership role as needed at the client
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and guidance
  • Strategic assistance with implementation of new ERP, if required
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies/anomalies and communicate issues as they arise in a timely manner
  • Manage technical accounting questions and updates
  • Provide support for the annual budgeting and planning process
  • Lead relationships with external auditors and accounting/tax advisors, as needed
  • Mentor team members and help them get to the next level
  • Effectively communicate and deliver accurate and timely reporting and critical financial matters to Executive Management and Partners


Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience
  • CPA with strong operational and technical accounting skill set
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Excellent knowledge in assessing, developing, and implementing accounting processes
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and risk factors to stakeholders and influence decision making
  • Deadline driven, goal oriented “get-it-done” mentality
  • Proven experience building, developing, mentoring, and inspiring an accounting team as well as serve in their functions as back-up, if needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills, an ability to work cross functionally, and a knack for presenting financial information in a way that others can understand easily
  • Excellent organization and time management skills within a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritize workload
