Our nonprofit telecommunications client is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join their team. In this role, you will oversee and manage the accounting function of the organization’s assets and funds, and maintenance of all financial and fiscal records, and related information. This role will evolve into the Head of Finance for the organization, playing a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy and growth.
This is an onsite position, 3 days a week in the office. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Honolulu, HI.
Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Represent the secretariat and scribe Board of Governors meetings, respond to international member requests, maintain business contracts and leases, and GET filing
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP to include variance and trend analysis
Lead the annual budgeting process from start to finish
Coordinate and lead the external audit and create internal control policies.
Supervise, mentor, and develop the accountant
Identify and recommend process improvements and financial software that would enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Collaborate with the CEO and board on financial planning, strategy, and decision making to support company growth.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
Management/supervisory experience
Knowledge of general accounting principles, and policy/procedure development and implementation
Prior experience exercising confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information
