Senior Accounting Manager

Applied Resource Group is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead our corporate accounting, reporting, compliance, and administration functions. This role is essential in managing the financial and compliance activities of our corporate entities. Reporting to the CFO, the position encompasses diverse responsibilities in a dynamic environment. The candidate will work independently and manage outsourced service providers, contributing significantly to our Finance & Accounting team.

Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting

• Oversee monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain corporate cash flow forecasts for liquidity and financial planning.
• Manage corporate treasury functions, including banking platforms and accounts.
• Lead budgeting processes to align financial planning with strategic goals.
• Coordinate tax preparation with external tax preparers.
• Administer monthly fund reimbursement processes for accurate cost allocations.
• Oversee outsourced accounting teams for quality and efficiency.
• Manage additional corporate accounting and analysis tasks as needed.

Payables & Expense Reporting

• Oversee payables processes, including AP system (Avidxchange) and wire transfers.
• Coordinate invoicing for property billable expenses and ensure timely collection.
• Manage expense reporting system (Concur) and approve expense reports.
• Reconcile corporate card transactions monthly.
• Coordinate annual vendor 1099 reporting and compliance.

HR & Administrative

• Coordinate onboarding with outsourced HR team.
• Approve bi-monthly payroll and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Administer 401k and HSA plans.
• Manage HRIS system (Paycom) for data integrity.
• Oversee corporate administration tasks and maintain orderly financial operations.
• Distribute mail as part of administrative duties.
• Oversee virtual administrative assistants supporting accounting functions.

Compliance

• Conduct annual compliance manual review with the compliance consultant.
• Coordinate annual compliance training for employees.
• Liaise with the compliance consultant on pre-clearance requests and ad-hoc compliance tasks.
• Manage annual cybersecurity tasks, including firewall testing and phishing campaigns.
• Assist with quarterly and as-needed investor Anti-Money Laundering checks.

Special Projects

• Lead the selection and implementation of accounting systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage and execute special projects, including system upgrades and process improvements.
• Respond to ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary compliance adjustments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of corporate accounting experience, including 2 years in a management role
• Proficiency in financial software and HRIS systems
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Self-starter with a high-quality work ethic
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
