About Our Client:

Our client is a prestigious luxury travel company based in FORT LAUDERDALE. With a reputation for excellence and world-class service, they offer unforgettable experiences to travelers around the globe. They are looking to bring on a Senior Accountant in a NEWLY-CREATED role under the new Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights and analysis.
  • Coordinate and support the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes affecting the travel industry.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the travel or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex spreadsheets and formulas.
