Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated and detail oriented Senior Accountant with excellent communication and critical thinking skills who thrives working in a collaborative fast-paced environment. This role will serve as the essential support of the Accounting and Finance operations for the artist services/merchandising subsidiary of COMPLEX NTWRK. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and Accounting and is responsible for all day-to-day accounting including month-end close, financial operations, and financial reporting including Artist P&Ls. Our Accounting team plays an integral role to each department and their respective business goals. The team collaborates with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the financial health of the company through accurate and timely reporting and ensuring payments to all parties arrive on time. In this critical role, you will join a group of strategic, detailed-oriented thinkers that thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while working cross-functionally to ensure the success of the company

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing day to day general ledger accounting operations for month-end close activities
  • including posting journal entries, and preparing reconciliations for various balance sheet and
  • income statement accounts
  • Preparing external artist settlement P&Ls for ecommerce and touring business
  • Preparing internal intercompany settlements for royalties due on licenses
  • Working with the Operations team to ensure complete and accurate reporting and tracking of projects and project costs
  • Record touring business revenue and costs and follow up on any discrepancies with venues or artist tour representatives
  • Preparing weekly sales reporting and monthly financial statements
  • Maintaining inventory tracking system in collaboration with operations team
  • Preparing ecommerce, supply, and touring invoices and following up on outstanding payments
  • Monitoring sales tax and related international accounts to ensure accurate and timely filing and
  • payment
  • Assisting with the external audit process, including preparation and/or review of deliverables and
  • handling communication with external auditors.
  • Assisting with financial reporting as required for Management, Board meetings and other
  • investor-related requests
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis on prospective ecommerce drops and touring activity
  • Contributing to and participating in processes improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of accounting experience; start-up or public accounting
  • Experience with financial statement preparation preferred
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Excel including basic modeling skills
  • Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask in fast paced and high-volume environment
  • Must show accountability, be a team player and operate with a sense of urgency
  • Interest in Music and/or experience in the Music Industry is a plus
  • Ability to be resourceful in an environment with a high level of uncertainty
  • Exposure to QBO, Google Suite, and Tableau preferred
  • Los Angeles, CA based

$85,000 - $105,000 a year

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
