Senior Accountant

Overview

Our client, a large trucking equipment dealer, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team in Columbus, OH. This person will be largely responsible for GL maintenance, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant to work with a very fast growing company with lots of room for growth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve system level controls on a dealership level througk Karmak software.
• Process improvement within the scope of financial operations.
• Assist with collections if needed.
• Producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other related reports/projections.
• Assist with software implementation and upgrade.
• Sales tax as well as exemption certificate management.
• Vendor maintenance and identification of 1099 vendors.
• Perform month-end process (reconciliations, calculating accruals and prepaids)
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, and revenues, to project future activity and identify weaknesses and opportunities.
• Prep and maintain daily cash flow and cash flow reports – forecast cash needs weekly.
• Maintain/analyze budgets, preparing reports comparing budget to actual costs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Trucking, logistics, transportation industry experience required.
• Karmak software highly preferred.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is highly preferred.
