Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting in the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, and all visitors of the Tribe.
Knowledge of Defensive tactics and use of force; Basic criminal and civil legal protections for persons and property; Security operations and safety practices. Skill in Understanding and following written and verbal instructions; Writing investigative reports; Working independently; Making independent sound decisions; Operation of necessary equipment including a two way radio and motor vehicle. Emergency preparedness training and understanding. Must be familiar with administrative duties, (i.e. computer skills, filing, report writing, etc.) Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear; and occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud in the field.
A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at the time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe. Flagger card and a certificate of completion of a First Aid/CPR course is required at the time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.
- Performs security patrols of buildings, vehicles and at Tribal events.
- Protects property from theft and vandalism.
- Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, and other security related situations.
- Provides any needed assistance to Tribal members, employees and visitors at gatherings and funerals.
- Calls appropriate law enforcement agency regarding unauthorized, trespassing, hostile, aggressive or loitering individuals from Tribal facilities and/or community events.
