, Job Description

The Security Manager is responsible for overall protection and security of all verticals of operations at Aspen One, and will safeguard and monitor property around all business operations in the Roaring Fork Valley.The Security Manager will work in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies in preventing crimes against Aspen One. They will collaborate closely with department managers and supervisors, fostering professional and amicable relationships with staff across all locations, as well as with any guests they directly interact with.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $62,968- $88,155. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, audit and conduct security trainings and awareness programs for employees, maintain a training/ development curriculum for team members
  • Develop and implement security policies; ensure all are up to date and compliant on a regular basis
  • Identify vulnerabilities, threats and compliance issues, developing strategies to mitigate identified risks
  • Provide high visibility presence in order to deter criminal activity and violations of resort conduct code
  • Coordinate with resort staff to report to, take charge of, and resolve guest or employee incidents to include but are not limited to: fighting, intoxicated guests, vehicle towing and accidents, theft, and other safety or security emergencies
  • Serve as first point of contact for any security related event
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendors servicing alarm and security systems for Aspen One
  • Maintain knowledge of state Security laws, Fire codes and Penal Codes
  • Ensure access to company buildings are controlled according to security policy including afterhours access and monitoring; confronting any suspicious persons
  • Work with local law enforcement and internal security systems to assist in loss prevention cases
  • Ensures staff are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies
  • Assist in fraud prevention working closely with relevant departments
  • Monitor, prevent, and respond to fraudulent chargebacks for select departments within Aspen One by identifying patterns of high-risk behavior
  • Perform theft report and analysis for any theft related issues at Aspen One
  • Responsible for the safe delivery of report envelopes to auditing and deposits to the bank
  • Deliver change orders back to revenue offices, visiting all 4 mountain locations daily; including all revenue centers
  • Monitor and maintains all cash vaults within Aspen One
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance of a company-provided vehicle, ensuring its upkeep
  • Other duties as assigned

, Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 5 years of experience dealing with the general public required
  • Computer proficient with Excel and Microsoft applications required
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses including, but not limited to; State security license, CPR and First Aid certification, alcohol awareness training
  • Proven record of honesty, integrity, and a strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and Holidays depending on business demands
  • Must be able to ski or snowboard to perform on Mountain audits as needed
  • Ability to work hours which will be outside of normal business working hours.
  • Able to work outdoors in all conditions

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received

Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of the Accounting Manager, Audit/ Internal Control and will work under the guidance of the Auditing Manager in the event the Accounting Manager is out of the office. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity, and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice, and assistance will be available as needed. Work will be reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift, executing repetitive movements.
  • No adverse or hazardous conditions.
  • Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push, or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50lbs.).
