Responsibilities

The Security Back-Office Department within Operations ensures the operational, clearance, administrative and processing of transactions initiated by the various business lines. In addition, it ensures the control and security of transaction processing in accordance with current financial legislations and SRO regulations and handles the Daily Settlement processing for SG Paris and certain affiliates with securities held by SG Americas Securities (‘SGAS’) on the Broadridge BPS Back Office System. The department also manages various other responsibilities affiliated with clearance.

Security Back-Office is responsible for the following in all SG entities:

  • Overseeing BPO (Broadridge Outsourced Services) and all its functions including:
    • Aged Fails and block issues
    • Payable and Receivables (including Coupon interest and Dividends)
    • Suspense
  • Assuring that the BPO is in proper review and escalation
  • Managing operational risks.
  • Prepare Managerial reports when needed
  • Assist in facilitating resolutions between Trading Desks and Back-Office
  • Review and Approve wire payments
  • Memo seg releases
  • Short sale Notifications
Role Description

The Security Back-Office Representative is a senior member of the team who leverages their technical, operational and analytical skills to work with the various trading desks, BPO, Other SG back-office entities and the Middle/Front Office to manage daily trading and clearing activity

In this role, the Sec BO Representative will:

  • Manage functional and operational requirements with Stakeholders.
  • Provide daily reports for Senior Management.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal & compliance requirements by working with the relevant internal contacts.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position include:

  • Prepare Morning short sale report
  • Review and release Memo Seg
  • Review, confirm and release wires throughout the day
  • Review BPO Fail reports – escalate back to BPO on outstanding issues and be prepared to assist in facilitating in review and/or escalation to responsible desk
  • Review the Payable / Receivable reporting and assure that all aged are being actioned
  • Review Suspense accts and assure that all are actioned
  • Identifying and resolving day to day issues in BPS accounts.
  • Assist the trading desks and other SG entities on needed research on issue

Profile required

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • DTC Portal,
  • Extensive Broadridge BPS and Impact working knowledge
  • Microsoft: Access, Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.

COMPETENCIES

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, appropriate to a given audience, (technical, functional, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze complex workflow methodologies and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to follow the workflow from Front-End trading systems to Back-Office systems
  • Must be comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Must be comfortable working with counterparts, customers, other departments and outside vendors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to interact with Stakeholders and support staff – traders, middle office, IT, etc.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Must have knowledge of various Broadridge research reports and how and when to utilize
  • Versatility

Prior Work Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in financial sector.
  • Knowledge of Broker Dealer operations and Market Practices.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity products.
  • Knowledge of US Regulatory Requirements (FINRA, Federal Reserve, etc.)

EDUCATION

Required/Must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Series 99

Desired/Plus:

  • BS in Finance or Management is a plus.

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
