Assists the Director in the supervision and training of the volunteer patrollers and ensuring a safe skiing/riding/recreation/work environment at the Snow Bowl and Rikert Outdoor Center.
Assists the director in the supervision, training and scheduling of the volunteer patrollers
Opens trails and closes, checking for and effectively marking hazards
Sweeps and closes trails and checks for grooming needs
Responds to and treats injured skiers/riders and completes incident reports
Assists in other daily duties and maintains adherence to the Bowl's "Patrol Procedures"
Performs other related duties as necessary and works cross-departmentally at the direction of Patrol Director
Conducts accident investigation reports.
Requirements
Education
National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care or EMT/WEMT Certification
Current CPR certification
High School diploma
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to communicate and relate to the public, and to work cooperatively with others
Advanced downhill skiing/snowboarding ability and 3-5 years of ski patrol experience recommended
Prior supervisory experience preferred
Ability to work in outside in an alpine environment in cold snow weather for extended periods of time.
Ability to climb chairlift towers and willingness to learn high-angle roped rescue
Strength and fitness to hike uphill for 1.5 miles without stopping, in winter gear.
Snowmobile/ATV operation
General mountaineering skills
Basic tree management
Roped chairlift evacuation.
Rescue Tobbaoggan use
Basic computer skills.
Benefits
Pay: $19.26 - $23.59 / hr. depending on experience.
