Job Title: Scientist I

Team: Analytical Development

Reports To: Director, Analytical Development

Classification: Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in analytical development and tech transfer activities in a cGMP environment.
  • Perform development activities on the following platforms: flow cytometry, ELISA based assays, luminex, qPCR, dPCR, cell based functional assays.
  • Assist in the qualification of analytical methods and stability programs.
  • Assist in designing experiments to facilitate the development of novel analytical methods and optimization of existing techniques.
  • Analyze and interpret data collected by other team members and create reports

and presentations suitable for cross-functional and client meetings.

  • Ensure Analytical Development deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Support tech transfer to internal Quality Control operations.
  • Provide analytical support for process development activities.
  • Author technical development protocols, reports, and tech transfer documents.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and external parties to successfully resolve deviations, investigations, change controls, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Head of Department.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Either a B.S. degree with 4+ years of assay development and validation experience or; a Master's degree in Cellular Biology, Immunology or related field with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience or; a PhD degree in Cellular Biology, Immunology or related field with a minimum of 1+ years of industry relevant experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to independently design experiments, analyze complex data and interpret and present experimental results.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, strong work ethic, self-motivated attitude and teamwork orientation is an absolute must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to multitask, operationally and strategically.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage through complex processes/projects.
  • Will interpret and carry out an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, oral, schedule, mathematical or diagram form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Preferred:

  • Either a B.S. degree with 6+ years of assay development and validation experience or; a Master's degree in Cellular Biology, Immunology or related field with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience or; a PhD degree in Cellular Biology, Immunology or related field with a minimum of 1+ years of industry relavent experience.
  • Able to mentor junior team members and support expansion of Analytical Development team.
