Currently, we are looking to add a Scientist I to the team:
Responsibilities And Duties
Review and approval of quality orders for Cayman’s catalog products
Critically evaluate analytical data associated with products failing initial quality control testing and coordinate additional testing to confirm product quality
Leverage synthetic chemistry knowledge to identify potential degradation pathways (oxidation, reactive moieties, etc.) or structural features (tautomers, rotamers) to explain analytical results
Leverage analytical chemistry knowledge to select appropriate methods of analysis to resolve testing artifacts
Evaluate scientific literature for reference NMR, IR, and HPLC data for comparison to quality testing results
Generate analytical reports to resolve quality holds
Review analytical data for custom synthesis service projects, generate analytical report and certificate of analysis, and coordinate with partner groups to ensure on-time delivery of materials to clients
Collaborate with Technical Support and chemistry staff on product quality technical inquiries and coordinate additional product testing with analytical labs
Work with manager to align priorities to Division goals and provide regular updates on QC hold metrics and status of backordered products in Chemistry Quality
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in chemistry or a related field
Experience: 8 years (with Bachelor’s), 5 years (with Master’s), 0 years (with PhD)
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Sharepoint, ChemDraw, SciFinder
Hands-on experience with synthetic chemistry and interpretation of analytical data (HPLC, MS, NMR, TLC, etc.) is required
Availability to work on-site in Ann Arbor during normal business hours
