The Milwaukee Rescue Mission Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) is a K4-12th grade Christian Academy in the heart of Milwaukee, serving students and families who are searching for a strong academic learning experience in a gospel-centered environment. As a Choice School, CTA is committed to offering a comprehensive, student-centered educational experience that serves the whole student. Our express purpose is to provide at-risk children with the opportunity for an excellent, Christian-based education that will equip them with academic, social, emotional, and spiritual tools for life.
Cross Trainers Academy is looking for a part-time School Nurse Compliance Coordinator to assist CTA staff in maintaining annual compliance with immunizations, health room policies and procedures and health records.
WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time hours will vary. Peak periods: 8-10 hours per week. Slow periods: 8-10 hours per month.
LOCATION: North Campus, 1530 W. Center Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53206
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist school administration, the office manager and health room/office staff in maintaining annual compliance with the following:
Student immunizations & WIR, including waivers chosen by parents
Health room policies, procedures and operations
Staff training
Medication administration to students
Student health plans for identified cases
Student allergy lists
Contact families and physicians when needed regarding specific student health plans
Work with office staff to maintain accurate student health records
Attend scheduled devotionals, staff meetings, and parent meetings, if applicable to identified student health plan, when schedule allows
Participate in scheduled career counseling with high school students regarding career paths in the health field, when time permits (during less busy months)
Maintain a neat and organized work space
Report issues with non-compliance of students, families or staff to the school administrator
Consistently enforce school-wide core values with an emphasis on academic development and Christ-like characteristics
Other related duties as assigned by North Campus Administration
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current/active registered nurse status
Previous experience working in a school environment preferred
A mature, Christian with a servant’s heart who is able to relate well with others in a culturally-diverse population and willing to serve in an urban environment of significant need
Ability to work effectively with diverse students and families
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and collaboration skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Comfortable using technology and competent in Windows and Google applications
Competent in (or willing to learn) utilizing the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) and the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS)
A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
