Job Summary/Purpose: Supports the educational process by providing health services to students. Provides preventative health services to facilitate optimal student health. Identifies health needs and provides services to prevent more serious concerns.
Education
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current, unrestricted license to practice as a professional
Registered Nurse in Missouri. BSN preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
Possesses good written and oral communication skills. Must be certified in CPR and able to perform CPR in a realistic setting, i.e. on the floor. Competent physical assessment skills. Knowledge of computer based programs is preferred. Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations and maintenance of strict confidentiality in regard to personal health information of others.
Experience
Minimum 1-3 years current nurse experience, background in emergency care preferred but not required. strong pediatric psychiatry a plus. Pediatrics or ICU/ EU experience preferred
Duties/Responsibilities
Medically attends to ill or injured children and staff.
Examples Of Work Performed
Identifies and treats common physical conditions of childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Able to perform Adult and/or Child CPR (for elementary and preschool nurses) in a realistic setting and skilled in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
Hours: 7:30 - 3:30 PM
Salary: $29.45 (increased hourly rates based upon relevant experience)
