School Counselor

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Washington-Liberty High School. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to communicate and work effectively with principal, staff and parents. Ability and willingness to work as a team member with special education and general education staff. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to compromise. Good initiative, flexibility, dependability and organizational skills. Strong sense of professionalism. Strong classroom management skills. EXPERIENCE: Teaching experience in the above mentioned areas Knowledge of best instructional practices Ability to integrate technology Experience in educational and instructional leadership QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Counseling endorsement. Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
