School / Community Facilitator

THE VACANCY: This recruitment is open and promotional, meaning all are welcome to apply and current employees in permanent positions are eligible to receive seniority credit and promotional placement once passing all exams. There is one vacancy, working 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 10 months per year (off in summer). Location is currently TBD. Please note that this is a bilingual position and the successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in both Spanish and English or Russian and English . The ability to read, write and speak Spanish or Russian fluently is required and will be evaluated during the Qualifications Appraisal Interview (Oral Exam) phase of the recruitment. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of assigned Administrator, encourage and coordinate parent education and involvement in various school programs and other activities; perform liaison duties between school and parents at an assigned site; refer families to local agencies or school services as appropriate; maintain related records. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in social services, education or a related field and one year experience working in an instructional or social program. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver's license. Incumbents are required to speak, read and write in a designated second language.
