Job Summary
The School Based Mental Health Clinician assists with supports and provides services to youth and their family members and/or appropriate collaterals that assist youth in improving their social, emotional and educational functioning.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or Mental Health Counseling
New York State MHC, LMHC, LMSW , MFT, LMFT, LCSW
Valid New York State driver’s license, access to reliable transportation
Demonstrated ability to function both autonomously and as a team member.
Knowledge of community resources, Office of Mental Health regulations, and Child Welfare system
Demonstrated ability to perform the functions below.
Essential Functions
Maintain a caseload equivalent to 22.5 billable units per week ; also help lead/provide group services
Provide intake assessment, treatment planning, therapy, and discharge planning services to youth and their families in community-based settings and ARISE clinical office space.
Deliver quality, effective, client centered social work services that assist youth in improving their social, emotional, and educational functioning
Engage family members and appropriate collaterals in the treatment process as clinical supports
Participate in periodic meetings with treatment providers, school personnel, and interdisciplinary team to identify youth’s needs, develop effective intervention plans, and provide feedback and updates to other team members
Refer youth and their families, as appropriate, to other community services to meet their identified needs
Provide r egular community-based visits ( ho me and school) in order to enhance skill development in youth’s natural environment
Develop and deliver educational and group therapy services based upon the needs of the client population
Maintain written documentation and case records within the Electronic Medical Record (preferably experience with Evolv ), regarding assessment, treatment planning, treatment, and referral of the youth in accordance with OMH and agency regulations
Provide periodic stigma reduction and psychoeducational sessions to youth’s natura l environment including school and natural supports, regarding effective identification and management of youth’s behavioral and mental health issues
Compile required data for r eporting on utilization of services as needed
Participate in weekly staffing, clinical supervision, and department meetings
Uphold code of ethics, code of conduct and all ARISE policies and procedures
Provide coverage on a rotating basis for the after-hours crisis line
Other duties as assigned
