What You Get To Do
As a Scenic Arts Craftsperson working in a spray booth, you’ll mix and apply two-part paint systems for props, sets and signage. It may never hang in the Louvre, but it will add to the amazing experience that is SeaWorld. You will:
Utilize HVLP spray gun in a controlled environment
Maintain paint finishes on themed elements, props and murals, including faux finishing
Perform fiberglass and Bondo repair
Help fabricate, install/strike and maintain/repair props, set pieces and décor
Handle, install/strike and maintain flags and banners
Assist with layout/preparation, painting and maintenance
Assist with the material inventory process
Maintain cleanliness of work areas and vehicles
Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
Perform other duties as assigned
What It Takes To Succeed
High school diploma or equivalent
Relevant technical coursework
At least two years of directly related experience
Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a SeaWorld driver’s license
Experience with a variety of paint mediums, including latex, acrylic and two-part automotive
Background with high volume low pressure (HVLP) painting
Experience with fiberglass and Bondo repair
Proficiency with all power tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
What Else Is Important
Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks(use of tools/keyboard/writing)
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
Ability to climb a ladder repeatedly
Ability to train on and properly use protective gear
