The Opportunity

We are seeking a Sales Operations Analyst. At Root, we’ve reimagined car insurance to make it smarter, more equitable, and a better experience for all. Using technology in smartphones, we’re able to measure driving behavior to give our customers the prices they deserve.

The Business Development team collaborates with partners to design and build best in class insurance experiences. The Sales Operations Sr. Analyst works hand-in-hand with Root Sales and cross-functional teams to accelerate the adoption of Root’s embedded insurance services and solve our partners’ business problems.

As a trusted internal advocate, the Sales Operations Sr. Analyst helps develop systems of control to manage internal processes and procedures to create a delightful customer experience. The crux of the job is to develop systems to simplify and create efficiency as we scale our business to business distribution channel. This individual will provide advice and strategies for onboarding and supporting new and existing business partners with Root’s internal teams.

You’ll help drive successful business outcomes across a broad set of enterprise partners through your passion for process, organization, efficiency, documentation, design, and technology. And you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build a repeatable process for how we support business to business distribution with our partners.

Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus and offices in other locations to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.

Salary Range: $82,400-103,000

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Manage and develop processes and procedures to support B2B distribution
  • Main point of contact for the Business Development team for all operational work
  • Serves as operational support for troubleshooting internal and external partner requirements
  • Provides operational clarity for key internal stakeholders
  • Understands how to interpret internal process and operationalize across cross-functional teams
  • Clear understanding of Root’s capabilities and how they serve our partners
  • Focus on execution, efficiency, organization, and speed to market
  • Responsible for managing and exceeding operational expectations
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Root’s operations
  • Possesses deep rooted understanding of operational excellence and execution
  • Contributes regularly to operational needs providing detailed documentation and recommendations
  • Understands the internal requirements and is able to articulate operational requirements to stakeholders so a process can be designed and implemented effectively
  • Recommends creative solutions to problems that keep the business moving forward
  • Knows when to pull in senior leaders when contemplating operational execution for new or current partners
  • Presents operational capabilities throughout the sales process
  • Demonstrates presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with engineers, IT management, and executives

What You Will Need To Succeed

  • 5+ years experience in sales operations
  • 3+ years of software experience or relevant systems
  • Experience in business to business distribution
  • Experience in business to business data sharing solutions
  • Understanding of insurance use cases a plus
