Our client are a leading Food & Beverage manufacturer that are on the market for a Commercial Director that would be responsible for developing and executing the company's commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and market share within the U.S. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the U.S. food manufacturing industry, strong strategic planning skills, and a proven ability to lead and inspire commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, assess competition, and define target markets.
Align commercial initiatives with the overall business strategy and objectives.
Sales and Business Development:
Lead the sales team to drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and customer relationship management.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the U.S. food retail market.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including major retail chains and distributors.
Marketing and Brand Management:
Oversee the development and execution of marketing plans to enhance brand visibility and market penetration.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective promotional campaigns and product positioning strategies.
Monitor market trends and consumer insights to inform marketing strategies and product development.
Customer Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers.
Implement customer feedback mechanisms to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Address and resolve any customer issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
Product Development and Management:
Collaborate with the product development team to ensure the product portfolio meets market demands and consumer preferences.
Oversee product lifecycle management, from concept to launch, ensuring timely and successful product introductions.
Analyze product performance and implement strategies to optimize the product mix.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the commercial budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve sales targets.
Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide regular reports to the CEO and senior management on commercial performance and financial outcomes.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Set clear performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement professional development plans.
Promote collaboration and cross-functional teamwork to achieve common objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the U.S. food retail industry, with at least 5 years in a senior commercial leadership role.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the food retail sector.
Strong understanding of the U.S. food retail market, including key players, trends, and consumer behaviors.
Excellent strategic planning, business development, and negotiation skills.
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing and motivating high-performing teams.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using CRM systems, ERP software, and other relevant business tools.
Working Conditions:
This position is based in an office environment with occasional travel to meet with clients, partners, and attend industry events.
Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet business needs.
