Open Source Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Our Open-Source division of Sangoma is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Open-Source Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team. The primary role of the Open-Source SDR is to reach out and build relationships with new Asterisk and FreePBX users. You will serve as a community advocate, helping users navigate our resources and ensuring they have the support they need. Additionally, you will identify opportunities and pass them to account managers, assist users with our e-commerce platform, and answer basic sales questions about renewals and products.

Your Role:

  • Cold call new Asterisk and FreePBX users to introduce them to our community and resources.
  • Act as a community advocate, ensuring users understand how to access help and support.
  • Build and nurture relationships with users to foster a positive community experience.
  • Identify and qualify potential sales opportunities during interactions with users.
  • Pass qualified leads and opportunities to account managers for further development.
  • Assist users in navigating our e-commerce platform, helping them find and purchase products.
  • Provide basic sales support, answering questions about renewals, product features, and pricing.
  • Represent the voice of the user within the organization, providing feedback to improve products and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the Asterisk and FreePBX projects to better support and engage the community.


Your Backgrounds:

  • 1 to 2 years of sales or customer service experience
  • Comfortable with speaking to people over the phone
  • Genuine interest in open-source technology and community-driven projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Background in sales, customer service, or community management.
  • Ability to build rapport with users and understand their needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Asterisk and FreePBX is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of e-commerce platforms and sales processes.
  • CRM and GSuite knowledge a plus
