Job Summary
The Sales Business Development Manager role is a sales leadership role responsible for fostering the growth of new J. Hilburn Stylists within a designated geographic region. The primary focus will be onboarding and activating new Stylists, ensuring their successful integration into the J. Hilburn company, and facilitating their journey to success within their onboarding period.
Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Onboarding and Training:
- Execute the onboarding programs for new J. Hilburn Stylists, ensuring a seamless and positive introduction to our brand and business model.
- Provide firsthand training and support to Stylists, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to activate their business.
- Travel in-region to activate new stylists throughout the year and drive Connect Events to enroll new Stylists and Activate Events to train and equip them to activate their business.
Activation and Engagement:
- Implement strategies to drive Stylist activation, ensuring they are actively learning, booking appointments, completing their training, and selling.
- Foster a sense of community and collaboration among new Stylists, encouraging networking and shared learning experiences.
- Maintain regular contact and create accountability groups and connections across the J. Hilburn community.
- Conduct regular coaching and training calls 1:1, in small groups and with larger cohort groups within the community to help them advance their business forward quickly.
Performance Mentoring & Coaching:
- Drive for performance with each new stylist to achieve your region’s designated key performance indicators (KPIs). Drive all Stylists in their Fast Start period to achieve the highest level of Fast Start bonuses possible and always have 50% or more achieving one or more Fast Start bonuses.
- Goal-set with new stylists to achieve their earnings goals, teach them the weekly 2+2 Success Formula, how to ask for referrals, and maintain a full calendar.
- Drive engagement between the new Stylist and mentor to monitor and analyze individual Stylist performance, providing feedback, training, and support to enhance their success. Assist mentors and new Stylists in scaling their business.
- Provide feedback to the mentor and Regional Sales Director regarding any issues with mentor performance in the development of their new stylist.
Resource Development:
- Implement new Stylist training, resources, and tools that aid in the onboarding and activation process of New Stylists.
- Stay informed about company strategies and best practices to continuously improve the onboarding program.
- Develop new Stylist playbooks and in-market training where needed to help Stylists achieve their goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience in new business development, preferably in direct sales
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated success in training and mentoring individuals to achieve performance goals.
- Knowledge of the fashion or retail industry is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a business development or similar role.
- Previous experience in the direct sales industry is highly desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) skills.
Travel
- Anticipated travel required for this position is 50%.
