Direct the site safety program, including occupational safety, contractor safety, industrial hygiene, process safety, and management systems
Develop and implement Safety Risk reduction project plans based on Risk Scoring
Support incident investigation activities, root cause analysis, corrective action identification and closure
Conduct regular safety audits of all departments including the inspection of facilities, worksites, equipment, work practices, and safety devices to ensure compliance with required workplace safety standards, regulations, and company policy: reports findings to department and recommends changes to establish safe work conditions
Develop, implement, and manage the company's injury prevention programs- directing and coordinating the participation of departments within the program
Facilitate hazard identification & risk assessment within each department and assist in coordination of and closure and/or corrective actions
Develop, implement, and manage training of employees on safety and environmental policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external EHS regulations
Environmental
Direct & oversee the site environmental management processes, including management of chemicals, air, hazardous and solid waste, wastewater, storm water, and pollution prevention
Work to provide vision and roadmap for site to achieve goals
Ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external EHS regulations
Health
Oversee and maintain SDS program
Review new chemicals and ensures appropriate controls are established prior to introduction into the workplace
Direct ergonomic assessments and provide technical guidance to production teams to minimize risks with material handling, repetitive motion and workstation design
Other
Perform data entry into corporate EHS databases
Analyse EHS data to populate and use WCM Safety, Environmental and Health Pillar Boards to define, implement and deliver EHS objectives
Promote, develop and train behavioral EHS initiatives to drive to an autonomous EHS culture
Maintain EHS training program to ensure proper training is provided
Comply with all EHS standards, assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforce plant rules and safety regulations, consistent with the corporate Values and Attitudes
May assist with product development, capital projects, process implementation and commissioning, and regulatory affairs
Lead and participate in EHS inspections, self-assessments, and audits
Keep informed regarding industry and government standards and specifications
Must have
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Relations or similar; or Technical College Degree in Environment, Hygiene and Work Safety combined with significant related experience
Experience in a union industrial manufacturing environment
Experience in developing and delivering EHS training material for various personnel
Experience in chemicals, environmental science, and human health
OSHA 10 hour or 30-hour Certification required
Valid Driver's License
