Safety Coordinator

Great River Industries Safety Coordinator Point Comfort, TX Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all safety protocols and regulations are adhered to on-site, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general and construction industries as a safety professional with excellent communication skills, ability to work together as a team and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites to identify potential hazards. Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, providing recommendations for corrective actions. Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors. Maintain and update safety records, documentation, and reports. Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure all safety equipment and PPE are in good condition and used correctly. Monitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols and procedures. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in safety regulations and technology. Qualifications: 3 years of safety related experience. Computer skills (Excell, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) OSHA 510 Preferred Qualifications and skills: Associate's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and Environmental Regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software. Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
