Position Description

Job Purpose:

This is a mobile, technical, and independent role, no prior experience is necessary, we can train the right person for this role. Your training period is paid. We are a contractor tasked with collecting and transmitting over-the-road emissions data from vehicles. Opus is a software and electronic hardware-driven global leader in the Automotive Technology Service industry. Our mission is to make the world a cleaner and safer place by providing highly effective solutions for Vehicle Inspection and Intelligent Vehicle Support through innovative technologies, customer focus, and operational excellence. Opus’s technologies and services help our state partners to meet strict US EPA Clean Air regulations by managing vehicle inspection programs and vehicle Information Databases and developing differentiated solutions for remote vehicle monitoring. Hands-on training for this position may require travel inside the state or possibly to Colorado for a short period of time, travel paid for by the company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily operation of our on-the-road motor vehicle emissions system.
  • Daily set up and breakdown of on-road remote sensing equipment.
  • Compile and deliver collected emissions data periodically, as instructed.
  • Support data processing activities as needed.
  • Maintain service log of the company-provided vehicle and activity log on data collection.
  • Drive to designated data collection sites.
  • Always keeping personal safety as the first priority by following personal safety procedures.
  • Follow proper procedures; operate remote sensing equipment at designated sites as directed.
  • Follow local codes, and safety procedures, and place proper signage and cones for equipment set up.
  • Maintain contact with technical support and supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by technical support and supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Maintain contact with the administrator/supervisor.
  • Performs maintenance, repair, and calibrations on Remote Sensing equipment.
  • Maintain RSD equipment repair documentation.
  • Help Technical supervisors troubleshoot RSD equipment over the phone or on the road.

Qualifications:

  • Verbal and written English communication skills.
  • MS Windows applications, email, and word processing skills
  • Interpersonal Skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers as needed.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions, and comprehension of equipment and procedures upon completion of training sessions.
  • Effectively and timely communication to the technical team on equipment’s status when needed.
  • Valid and current issued State Driver’s license
  • Be able to pass criteria for background check, drug screening and Motor Vehicle record check.
  • MVR records must provide results that allow for company vehicle insurance to be approved.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular daily travel between set-up locations.
  • Your Van-Set up will serve as your office when deploying equipment and auditing equipment.
  • Hours will be between 11:30 - 8:00 PM
