RN Success Coach (part-time/128 hours/year) @ Northwood Tech Ashland Campus

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a part-time (128 hours/year) RN Success Coach at the Ashland Campus.

The RN Success Coach provides tutoring for assigned nursing theory courses and promotes student success through collaboration with the Nursing course instructor. The RN Success Coach is supervised by the Associate Dean, Nursing.

  • Tutor nursing courses Nursing Fundamentals (10543101), Nursing Pharmacology (10543103), Health Alterations (10543105), and/or Complex Health Alterations (10543109).
  • Maintain current knowledge about the ADN course; consult with course instructor for clarification.
  • Work with program nursing students individually and in study groups to support and reinforce mastery of theory course content.
  • Prepare and create tutoring that actively engages students.
  • Provide 60 – 90-minute tutoring sessions, in person or virtually using Teams or Blackboard Collaborate.
  • Communicate specific information about available tutoring sessions to ADN students in a timely and consistent manner via email, Blackboard, and other means.
  • Keep student attendance records and turn into Associate Dean, Nursing Bi-weekly.
  • Email course instructor attendance record after each tutoring session.
  • Cancel tutoring sessions when no students have signed up, according to established timeframe and guidelines.
  • Communicate weekly with campus course instructor to best meet student needs.
  • Participate in individual and team professional development, remain current with technology used to provide tutoring services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Degree & Experience Required

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current work history in healthcare

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining accountability and motivation in self and others
  • Strong customer service skills that focus on diversity, community, and continuous quality improvement
  • Problem-solving skills that employ critical thinking
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Experience leading projects through time management and effective delegation
  • Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy


Preferred

  • Northwood Tech (WITC) Graduate


FY25 Salary - $38.00 / hour
