Key Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the Revenue Cycle Operations Training Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and implement practice management training courses to support all administrative, patient engagement, and revenue cycle operations.
  • Conduct training and support the proper utilization of ancillary platforms. This may include applications for registration, scheduling, patient check-in, claims processing, claims denials and payments, and patient payments.
  • Organizes, plans, and presents various forms of training and development using various forms and formats. Training may include group classroom training, one-on-one training, and online training.
  • Creates and/or acquires training procedures manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Identifies training and development opportunities and works with senior leadership to create new training initiatives.
  • Maintains records of training, development activities, and attendance
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development
  • Work in close collaboration with Operation and Revenue Cycle leaders to identify goals and desired outcomes.
  • Establish assessment standards and benchmarks to evaluate training and development progress.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in delivering workforce educational training programs, and development of course curriculum.
  • 3+ years of experience with medical billing software

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent project management skills and in-depth understanding of common business training techniques
  • Demonstrates the professional ability to deal positively and effectively with adversarial situations.
  • Works collaboratively with Operations, Revenue cycle, and Compliance to continuously identify needs for training and to further develop skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of revenue cycle function training
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to resolve problems and complete assignments accurately and promptly.
  • Self-motivated team player able to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong customer service orientation; responds with empathy
  • Results driven
  • Detail-oriented (if needed)
  • Strong computer skills/experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Adobe
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Proliance Surgeons.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
