About the role The Revenue Cycle Specialist will be responsible for understanding the claim entry and submission process, completing the charge entry of patient registration for invoicing and claim submission, as well as assisting in claim resolution, exceptions, and unbilled charges. This role requires a motivated and energetic individual who can help lead the charge entry process effectively, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help drive operational excellence within the revenue cycle. The Revenue Cycle Specialist will be instrumental in leveraging technology and process improvements to achieve organizational goals efficiently.

The Revenue Cycle Specialist will be comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, solving problems independently, and navigating ambiguity as data systems and processes evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Complete charge entry and claim management, working A/R and denial follow-up as needed
  • Execute the integration of an AI platform related to the charge entry process; formalize and ensure proper workflow documentation
  • Process payor refunds submitted by the billing team, ensuring accurate and timely submission to management
  • Help maintain an organized and cohesive process for all aspects of claims submissions, resubmissions, rejections, and denials
  • Proactively communicate issues, trends, and improvements in charge entry and A/R denial management promptly and effectively
  • Develop A/R reporting and provide assistance with unbilled AR reconciliation to ensure charges are submitted timely
  • Provide quick and effective follow up on claim submission status and mitigating submission errors and system configuration issues
  • Ensure accurate management of patient accounts, financial records, and claims processes
  • Work closely with the revenue cycle team to ensure accurate patient accounting, statement management, payment posting, and charge reconciliation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the continuous improvement and success of the revenue cycle department.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience in healthcare revenue cycle, and/or patient accounting
  • Medical billing, coding, and/or health insurance experience with specific experience with CMS 1500 claims, UB and invoicing preferred
  • Strong skills in documentation, communication and collaboration with diverse teams
  • Must be able to think analytically with strong data entry skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation
  • Microsoft Office and Google Suite experience
  • Strong attention to detail

$60,000 - $69,000 a year

The pay range for this position in the US is $60 K - $69K yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are open to compensation negotiations. This role also has a bonus based on performance.

Physical Demands

Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
