Revenue and Billing Accountant

Our client, well capitalized, private equity backed company that is in high acquisition is recruiting for a Revenue and Billing Accountant to join their growing team. This role will be primarily responsible for managing the billing, revenue accounting and cash collections processes for several different entities including recent acquisitions. This Revenue and Billing Accountant will report to a highly skilled Controller who is known for being a good mentor.

This Revenue and Billing Accountant role is a remote position.

As a part of the duties and responsibilities for this challenging Revenue and Billing Accountant role you will:

• Work across teams including sales, finance, sales and project managers to construct accurate bills for professional services provided.
• As a part of the finance team, help to established systems, processes and best practices.
• Respond to customer questions regarding client billing and invoices as well as manage collections.
• Prepare and submit customer/client statements and post corresponding cash balances.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for relating to revenue, billing, A/R and cash collection activities.
• Analyze financial data to prepare accurate monthly journal entries relating to revenue and billing.
• Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts related to revenue and billing.
• Develop and document internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Generate ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by management.
• Provide assistance during annual financial statement audits and addressing auditor requests.

Preferred credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with hands on billing and revenue experience.

• Prior experience working directly with clients or customers in a billing environment

• Experience within a law firm, consulting, engineering or similar time and billing environment is a plus

• Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Sage Intacct considered a plus.

• Proven skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite

• Understanding of basic GAAP principles.
