The Manager of Retail Operations, Workforce Management position frequently interacts with store leadership and cross-functional corporate business partners. Work includes but is not limited to store development, transformation objectives, project management, execution, and communication of store policies, procedures, and practices that maximize productivity and improve the customer experience.


Responsibilities:

Work Force and Financial Management

Financial

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for WFM analytics within the operations team, provide support & ​​effective communication to the field, and raise business/financial acumen.
  • P&L ownership and accountability, including implementing a routine monitoring and measuring process for store Payroll/P&L attainment in partnership with Finance, Operations, and the Director(s) of Stores.
  • Identify trends within the business and assess the potential impact relating to labor and budgets.
  • Recommend and execute alternative/creative solutions to issues arising from business changes.


Workforce Planning

  • In partnership with Finance & Director(s) of Stores, drive bi-annual, monthly, and weekly staffing (headcount) and labor plan by store to achieve budgeted payroll and sales goals.
  • Manage weekly labor forecasts, including planning support for tasks, events, and general traffic for retail stores.
  • Effectively analyze payroll & schedule reporting data to identify areas for improvement and strategy implementation.
  • Delineate & communicate all hour allotments per store (productive & non-productive) to provide direction on workload planning/effective scheduling.
  • Become a subject matter expert in all scheduling, labor, and P&L processes, utilizing the company scheduling platform, time and attendance, and supporting systems.
  • Create, maintain, and train store teams on effective scheduling practices that support Hours, SPH, and Conversion attainment.
  • Monitor adherence to field labor budget and course correct as necessary to maintain approved SPH results; surfacing any potential issues/opportunities to leadership.
  • Conduct routine time studies to ensure that labor productivity standards are accurate and met (UPH); evaluate the labor and subsequent financial impact of processes.

Operations & Systems Administration

  • Act as the Store Operations business partner for the implementation and management of all Scheduling and Time & Attendance systems and initiatives
  • Liaise with Human Resources and Legal partners to ensure compliance with all state and federal labor laws/regulations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with the Retail Planning team, managing all labor-related selling activities such as sales book requirements and commission.


Communication & Facilitation

  • Oversee and maintain the Workload Planning Calendar, facilitating routine meetings with SSC & Field leadership.
  • Proactively identify conflict and facilitate cross-department communication to resolve it.
  • Manage the Retail Communications inbox/calendar to ensure streamlined communication from SSC to stores.
  • Work with team members to ensure timely and accurate communication of all retail-impacting workload and scheduling-related activities.


Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 6 years+ of equivalent experience
  • A strong skill set in data analytics; ability to take complex labor/payroll data points and provide timely and effective communication.
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, capable of utilizing advanced functions, and pivot tables for complex data analysis.
  • Proficient in using Google and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced in developing and managing detailed dashboards and reporting utilizing various BI platforms. Providing visual representations of key performance indicators to facilitate data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to conduct ad-hoc analysis to uncover trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Capable of presenting findings/proposals to Operational Leadership and Executives clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in a multi-unit retail environment, with a strong understanding of retail operations.


Salary range: $85,000.00 -90,000.00*

*The offered salary or salary range is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and location of the position.
