Retail Buyer - Accessories

The Retail Buyer Accessories is responsible for the planning and purchasing of a balanced assortment that will achieve revenue, sell-through and weeks of supply targets while maintaining the company's scarcity model.

In this role, you will use your strong analytical and organizational skills to maximize sales through the management of inventory, OTB and product curation, ensuring retail stores have the right product, in the right amount at the right time.

The Retail Buyer role is a highly collaborative role and partners closely with a variety of cross-functional departments. The ideal candidate will be analytical, organized and data-driven, have excellent communication skills and an ability to conduct complex analysis to produce actionable recommendations. This person will stay in close communication with store teams to understand store-specific needs and tailor buys based on tier and segment strategies as well as work with the allocation team to ensure a seamless flow of product to and from stores.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with planning on the determination of receipt plans and inventory management to drive assortment execution
  • Determine the correct sales to stock mix, breadth and depth of assortment per store to right-size investments, maximize sales and minimize OTB risks
  • Partner with Merchandising and Planning to build and manage successful replenishment and core models
  • Own product selection for our diverse fleet of retail stores to ensure a visually well balanced assortment that meets financial targets and supports central merchandising strategies
  • Execution and planning of new store opening assortments
  • Management of buy plans and receipts to ensure accuracy of on order and investment
  • Generate correct and timely purchase orders that both meet projected demand and stay within overall OTB goals.
  • Partner closely with production to ensure on-time delivery and prioritization weekly
  • Partner with Allocations to promote the seamless flow of product to and from stores drive, ensuring appropriate inventory levels that will maximize sales
  • Run weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports to analyze product performance highlighting key takeaways
  • Track style & SKU-level sales, inventory and outstanding orders on a daily basis and make adjustments to plans based on business needs
  • Work cross functionally with retail field, marketing, web, operations to ensure communication of merchandising and retail strategies
  • Communicate product knowledge to boost conversion and enthusiasm of product for the retail fleet
  • Work with retail ops and visual merchandising to create compelling in-store displays
  • Gather feedback regularly from stores, as well as regional directors to identify opportunities and to share information on new products
  • Identify and improve workflow opportunities

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Merchant / Buyer experience at a retailer/e-commerce company
  • Experience with buying for 20-50+ stores
  • Experience applying tailored store buys to elevate individual store assortments
  • Strong analytical aptitude and in depth understanding of the Open-to-Buy and financial metrics to drive it
  • Strong commercial product eye, informed by data, to drive product selection and ensure collection
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint (Google platform preferred)
  • Strong Analytical and Math Skills, specifically in merchandise planning
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced environment is a must
  • Ability to adapt and learn internal business systems
  • Strong Excel Knowledge, experience modeling and analyzing inventory levels
  • Ability to deal successfully with complexities of an expanding organization
