RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER I

Summary

The Assistant Store Manager I will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Store Manager II and Store Manager in leading a team of retail sales and service professionals, developing, and implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability, ensuring excellent customer service, implementing security controls, and managing cash. They will also be responsible for maintaining a strong retail floor presence, actively engaging with retail staff on the retail sales floor to ensure smooth operations and exemplary customer service.

Assistant Store Manager i Job Duties

  • Support the Store Manager and ASM II in managing the retail sales and service team to ensure efficient operations of the dealership.
  • Actively engage in being out on the retail sales floor, directing, managing, and training retail staff, and maintaining a strong retail floor presence to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a timely and professional manner to maintain excellent customer service.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and community organizations.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to staff members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Monitor staff productivity and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including those related to employee conduct and performance standards.
  • Assist in resolving staff conflicts and addressing employee concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategies to drive sales and profitability, including marketing initiatives and promotional events.
  • Aid in implementing security measures to safeguard dealership assets, including inventory and financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including safety regulations and employment laws.
  • Assist in representing the dealership at industry events and trade shows.
  • Support the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Aid in maintaining accurate records of sales, inventory, and financial transactions.
  • Assist in managing daily cash transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, sill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a motorcycle dealership or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Familiarity with managing inventory levels and financial performance.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for motorcycles and understanding of the industry.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Language Skills

  • Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
