THE RETAIL AREA MANAGER- CENTRAL REGION POSITION

Sunnova Energy is seeking a Retail Area Manager to manage our retail ambassadors and Sunnova’s retail in-store presence. This position will work closely with our Manager, Retail, our Marketing Manager, Retail, and dealer partners to ensure our retail ambassadors are compliant, delivering desired results and optimal customer experience.

This candidate will manage compliance and performance of participating dealers and over 200+ retail ambassadors (also referred to as “representatives” or “reps”). This position will act as Sunnova’s eyes and ears for our retail in-store experience, visiting store locations frequently, shadowing in-store ambassadors, onboarding/ training new ambassadors, and providing necessary reporting to our dealer partners and internal stakeholders. This position will be responsible for managing dealer performance, including compliance, sales performance, conversion rates and cancellation rates.

The Retail Area Manager- Central Region Responsibilities

  • Manage participating dealers’ performance, ensuring they meet sales targets
  • Manage the compliance of dealers, including required hours and any escalations
  • Meet with dealers weekly to discuss performance, what’s working and what's not.
  • Maintain active dealers’ documents, ensuring they are compliant with licensing and insurance requirements.
  • Terminate any reps that do not meet compliance requirements.
  • Recruit and onboard new dealer partners.
  • Fully offboard any terminated dealer partners.
  • Ensure all in-store representatives are compliant while in store, including required attire, kit materials, badges, etc.
  • Assist dealers with onboarding new ambassadors to Sunnova Retail Program, including submitting background checks, compliance training, kit requests, attire/apparel ordering
  • Manage the required compliance training, ensuring all representatives complete compliance requirements prior to starting.
  • Alert dealer partners if any kits are damaged or need to be replaced
  • Meet regularly with retail Store Managers and District Managers
  • Lead background check/badging process for our in-store representatives, submitting new badge orders; provide reporting to dealer partners on active representatives and status of badges.
  • Review and analyze NPS survey responses to escalate any negative feedback and provide positive feedback to ambassadors
  • Frequently visit store locations to shadow and/or train representatives
  • Host ambassador trainings, rallies, etc. to help increase performance metrics
  • Assist ambassadors with scheduling platform; ensure all ambassadors are properly recording their time in store
  • Provide reporting regarding active/badged representatives, representative score cards, mystery shop reporting, NPS reporting and overall individual performance
  • Provide recommendations to increase sales conversion and reduce cancelations based on various data sources including sales and conversion metrics, consumer survey data, and dealer feedback.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager, Retail to attend and/or host events at the retail store locations.
  • Deliver product training to retail store managers as requested
  • Manage mystery shopping data, reporting, and escalations.
  • Prioritize the most critical gaps in providing an enjoyable customer experience; provide recommendations to the Marketing Manager, Retail on ways to optimize the in-store experience
  • Work with Marketing Manager, Retail to launch and manage self-service lead generation in retail locations.



Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on marketing, business or related field.
  • 5+ years of marketing or business experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong customer focus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities 
  • Experience managing a team, providing support and training



Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Salesforce
  • 5+ years Retail experience
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Event Marketing experience
  • Residential solar energy services experience



WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Remote-office environment
  • Travel required 25-75% of the time
  • Weekends required



Physical Requirements

  • Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Standing/walking for extended periods of time (at events and/or trainings)
