The job of a unit manager is active and interactive.
Waffle House is a 24/7 business therefore I will be required to work all holidays, many week-ends and some nights.
Managers are responsible for my restaurant 24/7 365 days a year.
Managers responsible for the staffing, training, disciplining and management of my associates.
Managers plan the work that associates do and direct associates on how to do their job.
Managers are responsible for ensuring compliance with federal employment laws and corporate policies (including compensation, sexual harassment and discrimination).
Managers understand that most of my managing will be done out front in the restaurant, not in the back room.
Managers understand that my income is performance based.
Managers are accountable for tracking and controlling the costs in my restaurant.
Managers control the flow of materials, supplies and service in my restaurant.
Managers understand that even as they progress with the organization the culture will continue to be one of hands on management.
Managers understand that the compensation is approximately 40% (percentages can change) performance based bonuses and therefore will fluctuate from year to year based on my actual results.
It is up to me to manage my personal finances relative to expected performance as opposed to maximum performance.
As a Unit Manager I will be responsible for coming back to my Unit at 8:30 PM a minimum of three nights a week for required drawer changes.
