Norton Healthcare Respiratory Therapy Apprentice program along with our Licensed Student positions is designed to provide a pathway for students to obtain shadowing and additional hands-on experience while earning their degree.
Respiratory Care Practitioner Explorer Program Highlights
The Respiratory Care Practitioner Explorer will be employed by Norton Healthcare as a PRN (as needed) employee and partake in a shadowing opportunity that will include, training and learning in areas of respiratory care.
This experience will allow the explorer to rotate through their selected Norton facilities respiratory departments.
Respiratory Care Practitioner Apprentice Program Highlights
The Respiratory Care Practitioner Apprentice will be employed by Norton Healthcare as a PRN (as needed) employee at a set Norton Healthcare Hospital facility.
Apprentices will gain hands-on experience within their scope of practice in areas such as EKG training, respiratory device cleaning and maintenance, medical gas management, and patient transport assistance.
Licensed Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Positions
Students will be employed by Norton Healthcare as PRN (as needed) or part-time employees.
Students will work semi autonomously within the scope allowed by their Student Respiratory Therapist Licensure issued by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care.
Students will focus primarily on respiratory therapy skills and functions, time management and gaining patient exposure.
The Licensed Student position and training will continue until students complete their educational program at which time they will be eligible to transition to a full time Respiratory Care Practitioner position within Norton Healthcare.
