Residential Mortgage Loan Officer

The Residential Loan Officer evaluates, originates and recommends approval of real estate, line-of-credit and consumer loans. The loan officer advises borrowers on available loan products to meet their borrowing needs; analyze the financial status of the applicant and presents various lending product alternatives. The loan officer will develop and maintain business relationships within the community; particularly with realtors and residential home builders; cross sell other banking products. A Residential Loan Officer’s responsibilities include a variety of retail functions related to the following areas:

• Loan Origination;
• Lending;
• Bank Policies and Procedures;
• Compliance;
• Communication;
• CRA;
• Business Development
• Cross selling other bank products
  
  

Job Specifications

Certification: NMLS Registration

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in residential mortgage lending.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• An active listener who gives full attention and identifies the customer’s needs, asking questions as appropriate
• Excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of residential and consumer lending processes, internal loan programs and associated state, federal and other regulations
• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best lending solution to present to customers
• Maintain current knowledge of compliance requirements for areas of responsibilities
• Develop and maintain outside referral sources
