Residential Mortgage Closing Specialist -- Remote | WFH

Job Purpose

As a Closing Specialist, you will ensure the smooth and accurate closing of mortgage loans. You'll play a pivotal role in preparing and reviewing essential documents, coordinating with various stakeholders, and managing post-closing activities to uphold regulatory and investor standards. Your dedication to exceptional customer service will ensure a seamless transition for our borrowers into loan servicing.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare and review closing documents such as loan agreements, promissory notes, and closing disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and lender-specific regulations.
  • Coordinate with title companies, escrow agents, attorneys, and other stakeholders throughout the closing process.
  • Verify loan approval conditions and ensure accuracy of loan details.
  • Act as the primary contact for borrowers, offering clear instructions and addressing inquiries during closing.
  • Facilitate the disbursement of loan funds and ensure funding conditions are met.
  • Oversee the signing, notarization, and witnessing of documents as required.
  • Compile accurate loan packages for submission to investors or lenders, adhering to guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of closed loan files for accuracy and completeness.
  • Address discrepancies and provide necessary documentation for loan servicing.
  • Complete post-closing tasks to support loan sales and servicing transfers.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in closing, shipping, and secondary residential markets.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to operate standard business equipment and technology.
