Resident Manager
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Resident Manager to oversee the operations of a luxury pre-war building in New York City. This role requires a candidate with a strong personality and exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with condo owners, particularly in challenging situations. The Resident Manager will be responsible for maintaining the building's high standards and ensuring the satisfaction of its residents.

- Building Management: Oversee daily operations of a luxury, pre-war building with over 400 units, ensuring all systems function smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintenance Supervision: Manage and address issues specific to pre-war buildings, including plumbing (toilet lead bends, etc.), 2-pipe steam systems, and chillers.
- Staff Leadership: Lead and manage a team of at least 30 staff members, ensuring high performance and adherence to building policies and standards.
- Resident Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for condo owners, handling complaints and resolving conflicts with professionalism and tact.
- Facilities Oversight: Ensure that all building amenities and services are well-maintained, including overseeing repairs, renovations, and regular maintenance.
- Emergency Response: Be available for emergency situations, providing swift and effective responses to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
- Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and reporting to the building's board or management company.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in building management, specifically with large buildings (400+ units) and pre-war structures.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading a team of at least 30 staff members.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pre-war building systems and maintenance, including plumbing, 2-pipe steam systems, and chillers.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations and maintain positive relationships with residents.
- Union Position: Must be willing to work within the framework of the 32BJ union.
