Job Description: The hourly technician will work closely with member of the Hong lab on the following research project

Project Description: The aim of this project is to conduct research in the field of organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry with emphasis on the development of small molecule modulators of important biological processes and human diseases. The research technician will routinely conduct organic/medicinal chemistry research such as running chemical reactions (45%), purifying organic compounds (45%), and characterizing them by using NMR and mass spectroscopy (10%). This work requires a BS in Chemistry. This hourly tech will assist graduate level and postdoctoral level researchers in accomplishing research goals related to medicinal chemistry.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires an Associate's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other science related scientific field.

Experience

None required above education/training requirement OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skill

General knowledge and interest in chemistry research.

  • Degree in Chemistry is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills preferred.
