Research Technician

The Strauch lab (http://www.strauchlab.com/) at Washington University is looking for a research technician to join our lab! We are looking for support on the wet lab site, especially help with protein expression and lentivirus productions. Candidates with experience in tissue culture, protein expression, and purification are preferred. General lab support will also be part of the position.

We are a protein engineering lab combining state-of-the-art computational protein design technologies with directed evolution methodologies. We bring new perspectives to difficult problems and are developing new approaches (and proteins!) to tackle viral infections.


We are a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. We have state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, including cell sorter, BLI, FPLC system, Light scattering, tissue culture, etc, but also excellent cores on campus for any needs that may come up. Your work would involve FACS, mammalian protein expression, gene library preparation, next-generation sequencing preparations. Depending on the applicant's background, several of these techniques can also be learned on-the-job.


Qualifications

We welcome applicants with Bachelor or Master with at least 1 year of research experience. Applicant should have a degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Virology, Biological Engineering or related fields.
