Job Description
Position: This employment opportunity is for a Full-Time Research Assistant position available immediately in a dynamic biotechnology company. The Company’s primary focus is on the development of novel delivery vehicles in the fields of vaccines and therapeutics, as well as medical devices and antimicrobial formulations.
Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for developing and performing analytical methods for chemical and biological molecules. Other duties might include conducting and developing quality assays for the Company’s product candidates. This individual will also be responsible for operating and maintaining the required equipment.
Essential Job Functions: The candidate will be expected to follow established procedures to perform experiments associated with analytical and purification techniques, including protein chemistry, conjugation chemistry, and organic synthesis. These experiments will require experience with various chromatographic methods, protein analysis, and in vitro assays. The candidate is expected to be able to operate basic laboratory equipment such as a centrifuge, pH meter, analytical balance, spectrophotometer, upright and inverted microscopes, and/or utilize a laminar flow hood. The candidate will be expected to comply with the good laboratory techniques associated with proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents in the workplace. HPLC experience and knowledge of working in a quality environment is highly desirable.
Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience working with cross-functional teams is desirable.
Education & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or biological sciences. Experience in chemical synthesis and conjugation, analytical chemistry, molecular biology and/or protein purification a plus.
