Overview
The Laboratory of Synthetic Embryology has an immediate opening for a Research Specialist who will work on a project studying Huntington’s Disease (HD) biology using human embryonic stem cells. The role primarily involves executing and optimizing molecular biology techniques for the project. This is also an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is also interested in growing in a managerial role.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in experimental design, data acquisition, and data management
- Data analysis, visualization strategies, perform statistical analysis
- Manage day-to-day lab operations, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety protocols
- Developing and implementing lab improvement projects related to process optimization and efficiency
- Manage lab inventory and records
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Hands on experience with molecular biology techniques such as:
- DNA cloning
- Bacterial transformation
- Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
- Gel electrophoresis
- Plasmid preparation
- Sequence analysis
- 1+ years of research experience
- Master’s degree is a plus in a relevant field such as cellular or molecular biology, bioengineering, or biochemistry
- Experience in lab management position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
