Job Summary

Manage security programs concerned with protecting Institute employees, properties, facilities, physical assets and classified information. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This management position will interact on a regular basis with: research management, professional and support staff, and government and industry professional counterpartsThis position typically will advise and counsel: research management, professional and support staff, and government and industry professional counterpartsThis position will supervise: assigned staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Implement and administer security programs that control access to the organizations facilities or assets.

Job Duty 9 -

Investigate and record accidents, theft or other losses, or allegations of illegal behavior.

Job Duty 10 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Job Duty 2 -

Manage a team of assigned staff that are responsible for monitoring company grounds to prevent theft, violence, or other loss of company

property.

Job Duty 3 -

Ensure compliance with security requirements set by the Department of Defense (DoD) or a similar agency.

Job Duty 4 -

Process employee security clearances and verify and approve visitors.

Job Duty 5 -

Conduct security trainings or briefings for employees.

Job Duty 6 -

Maintain personnel files or facility security logs.

Job Duty 7 -

Participate in audits or inspections.

Job Duty 8 -

Oversee the storage, retrieval, distribution, and destruction of classified materials.

Educational Requirements

Required Qualifications

Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications

Will require some weekend and evening activities.

Required Experience

Ten years of job related experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Certifications, Licenses or Permits:

American Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS), Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or National Classification Management Society (NCMS) Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Previous Facility Security Officer (FSO) or FSO certification, Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) and/or Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

This job requires the ability to work as part of a team, develop and mentor others, and meet deadlines. Must be detail oriented and have skills in decision-making, management, leadership, problem management, problem/situation analysis, judgement, and organization. Must have working knowledge of the requirements contained in the DoD National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, thorough knowledge of Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), ISFD, SIMS and basic office applications, and superior verbal and written communications skills.

Anticipated annual salary $81,619.00 to $111,002.00
