Position Summary
The Division of Hematology-Oncology at the University of North Carolina is seeking a full-time, fixed term Research Instructor to expand the division’s research and clinical efforts.
The responsibilities of this position will be shared between research (80-90%) and clinical (10-20%) commitments. The candidate should be engaged in the study of immunotherapeutic strategies for childhood solid tumors. The candidate should be ABP board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology Oncology. The candidate will able to independently run a research program, including experimental planning and execution, result documentation, and data analysis. The candidate will be available to supervise undergraduate and graduate researchers. The candidate will also provide coverage on our inpatient hematology-oncology unit. Preference will be given to candidates with independent funding and a long-term interest in research.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
MD or MD/PhD, completion of pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship, focus on laboratory investigation of childhood cancers, ability to provide inpatient attending coverage.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Experience in foundation grant submission.
