Job Title: Research Director - Storage & Data Management

Job Description:

As a Research Director, you will be the subject matter expert in your practice area. Leveraging your deep expertise and strategic vision, you will shape the direction of your practice, driving innovation, delivering impactful solutions, and providing thought leadership to our clients and internal teams alike. This role presents a unique opportunity to significantly impact the future of technology and drive positive change on a global scale.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the practice's strategic vision and roadmap, aligning with the company's overall objectives and market trends.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth and expansion within the space, collaborating with sales and marketing teams to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
  • Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in your practice area and leverage insights to position as a thought leader.
  • Team Management: Build and mentor a high-performing team of experts and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique challenges and objectives and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the successful execution of client projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards while driving innovation and creativity in solution design.
  • Industry Collaboration: Establish partnerships with industry stakeholders, academia, and research institutions to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and drive collaborative innovation.
  • Data Driven: Review and own the market model for the practice area, performing the QA of any datasets and being an advocate of the data within the Intelligence platform
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry publications, conferences, and speaking engagements, sharing insights and best practices to elevate the visibility and credibility in the emerging technology space.


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field is required; an advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the technology industry
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business strategies and drive revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience building and managing high-performing teams in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with emerging technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills the ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome obstacles, and drive results in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative and cross-functional environment, with a commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, diversity, and continuous learning.


Success Measurements:

  • Quantitative Metrics: Measure revenue growth, client acquisition, and project profitability within the practice. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as briefing targets, project completion dates, and client satisfaction scores.
  • Qualitative Assessment: Evaluate the impact of thought leadership initiatives, market positioning, and brand recognition within your practice. Gather feedback from clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to assess the practice's perceived value and effectiveness.
  • Innovation and Thought Leadership: Assess your practice's development and adoption of innovative solutions, patents, and proprietary methodologies.
  • Monitor industry recognition, awards, and media coverage to gauge thought leadership and industry influence.
  • Leverage background and expertise to provide valuable intelligence and insights within the practice.
