Research Assistant

Quris Technologies seeks a highly motivated and creative Research Assistant to contribute to the development of a multiplexed high throughput in-vitro platform for AI based drug discovery. The successful candidate will perform biochemical analyses and cell-based studies along with lab maintenance work, to support the development of the platform and screen drug candidates. We are a dynamic, collaborative, creative startup with diverse talents and experiences, headquartered in Tel-Aviv Israel and Boston, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-vitro experiments including cell culture maintenance, characterization, and end point assays
  • Perform biochemical, electrochemical and imaging tests needed for analyses
  • Execute assays to assess gene and protein expression (e.g., qPCR, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Fluorescence Microscopy), and biological effects (e.g., function, viability, enzymatic activity) in cell lines and primary and iPSC derived 3D organoid cultures
  • Receive, label, and safely store materials and samples
  • Maintain records of all received samples and materials
  • Report and discuss the results
  • Clean and maintain lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment
  • Maintain equipment records and daily work logs
  • Prepare materials commonly used in the lab and for specific assays
  • Stay current on technical and scientific advances in the relevant fields
  • Summarize findings in presentations to internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with the lead scientists to design workflows and study plans
  • Participate in team meetings and provide regular oral and written communication on all projects and milestones to relevant project teams
  • Review literature and work with colleagues to develop new methodologies and protocols

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related discipline with 2+ years experience; Master’s degree a bonus
  • Experience with biotechnology lab routines
  • Experience working with primary human cells/organoids
  • Experience working with stem cells (e.g., iPSC and ESCs) and differentiation of cells into various lineages
  • Experience in lab techniques such as Fluorescence Microscopy, qPCR, ELISA, Flow Cytometry and other biochemical assays
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, flexible and able to contribute to several fast-paced projects concurrently
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and a strong desire to work with researchers from different disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of laboratory experience either in an academic or industry setting
  • Available to work on weekends to maintain cells in culture and time dependent studies
  • Experience in drug toxicity assays and knowledge in cardiovascular biology
