Research And Development Scientist

Our client, a leading meat snack manufacturer, is seeking an innovative R&D Scientist to develop and produce new and improved products, and present these ideas to their customers.

As the R&D Scientist, you will apply scientific and engineering principles in research, development, production technology, quality control, packaging and processing.

Responsibilities

• Provides necessary definition, development and deployment of continuous improvement projects to address manufacturing variances as identified by operations or R&D
• Ordering and gathering ingredients from production plant
• Grocery shopping for ideation, sample and customer presentations
• Preparing, executing and shipping specific customer samples by project
• Preparation of R&D formula Spreadsheets
• Maintaining adequate inventories of ingredients needed for projects
• Assisting with plant trials, sensory and shelf-life tests
• Conducting competitive analysis and segregation analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Technology, Food Science or related field
• Basic knowledge of USDA regulatory criteria or wiliness to learn
