About You

You will spearhead research functions in our DC office, building lasting relationships with our real estate advisors. This includes organizing a platform of comprehensive commercial real estate market data, partnering with marketing to present materials to win new business, responding to inquiries from advisors, and training advisors and staff on how to use research resources. The Research Analyst collaborates with the marketing team and partners with advisors to develop materials to inform clients about the market in pitches and regular touchpoints.

In this role, you will…

  • Aggregates, standardizes, and expands disparate data sets. Responsible for database maintenance, verification, and updating multiple databases across multiple service lines.
  • Provides timely and reliable statistical information on commercial properties, including, but not limited to, availability and vacancy rates, lease rates, absorption trends, lease, and sale comparables, tenant migration, development activity, and economic trends.
  • Assists with collecting, analyzing, and producing quarterly and annual market reports adhering to corporate standards.
  • Conduct field research to confirm and enhance market information, verify tenant movement, and monitor new developments.
  • Function as a resource to brokers and staff involved in special projects requiring compilation of data, i.e., ownership data, zoning, land use, property sales, etc., and provide demographic information in partnership with Colliers GIS Location Intelligence.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years Research experience in a similar role within Commercial Real Estate
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business, Economics, Statistics)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using a research database. Able to calculate and analyze key metrics and indicators (vacancy, absorption, inventory, deliveries, cap rates, etc.).
