John Burns Research and Consulting, LLC seeks a talented Research Analyst II to join our internal survey team. Our team excels in providing top-tier proprietary research across the for-sale and for-rent housing segments. In this role, you will transform raw data into insightful visualizations, create supporting work files for geographic and consumer-related conclusions, assess data quality, manage data transfers to our database and dashboards, recommend process improvements, and handle client and internal survey data inquiries. Responsibilities:

  • Manage proprietary data for industry-related surveys, including data review and cleaning, weighting data, constructing roll-ups, preparing visualizations, and updating work files with specific data views used for analysis.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to provide detailed progress updates, milestones, and deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Conduct peer reviews and implement best practices to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of data collected and analyzed.
  • Enhance data process automation using tools such as Tableau, R, and Python.
  • Lead independent projects that analyze insights in the for-rent and for-sale housing markets.
  • Engage in content creation on social media and write articles.
  • Serve as a resource for internal and external survey inquiries, processes, tools, and outputs.
  • Collaborate with thought leaders and external partners to develop new surveys.
  • Apply project management skills to document and track project progress.
  • Handle recurring ad hoc and monthly client requests.


Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of experience as a data analyst or in a related field, with proficiency in data analysis tools and software for handling and analyzing large datasets.
  • Knowledge of quantitative data management methods, such as identifying outliers, weighting or indexing data, and calculating confidence intervals.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Power BI) and data automation (e.g., VBA, SQL, R).
  • Familiarity with process management tools such as Coda and Asana.
  • Strong client servicing skills and enthusiasm for interacting with clients.
  • Preferred experience with survey tools such as Qualtrics and Alchemer.
  • Knowledge of the residential real estate industry is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating ideas clearly in written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with team members.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to support critical survey deadlines, including occasional adjustments to work hours.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and innovation in a dynamic organization.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
