PotomacWave is looking for a Research Analyst to join our team supporting a Federal client in Washington, DC. This individualshall serve as a technical authority on Intelligence-related Work (IW) projects and maintains a current understanding of project activities to advise IW participants on status of work approved, issues between the client and project sponsors, and compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface and coordinate directly with field offices, laboratory program management and project sponsor officials within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Provide field intelligence elements, IC departments and agencies with advice, detailed guidance, and assistance with regard to Departmental policies and procedures for requesting and conducting IW.
  • Serve as an Intelligence(IN) technical authority onIWprojects and maintains a current understanding of project activities to adviseIWparticipants on status of work approved, issues between the client and project sponsors, and compliance with policies, procedures, and guidance.
  • Act as a focal point for customer relations, meeting and dealing withIWparticipants to ensure issues are presented, negotiated, resolved and appropriate responses provided.
  • Recommend appropriate, viable policies, strategies, and procedures for approving and conductingIWactivities.
  • Ensure assigned IW portfolio is in compliance with all intelligence requirements. Some projects are extremely sensitive because of the need to protect intelligence sources, methods, and their consequent importance to national security.
  • Maintain the automated tracking and monitoring system for internal IN use and for the larger complex.
  • Use a variety of government information technology systems and databases to analyze message traffic for items of interest according to the government client’s criteria, and apprise senior DoD leadership of their discoveries
  • Work closely withIWparticipants in explaining IN guidance and requirements for IC IW.
  • The ability to assess the information without violating directives and confidences is critical.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques in the area of intelligence research and the use of technology for conducting research.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the DOD, the National Intelligence Community, andU.S. government organizations, and their functions in the processing, analyzing, and handling of IWand sensitive intelligence information.
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis and evaluation of technical, scientific data related to interagency/intelligence agreements.
  • Knowledge of working with classified material preparation and handling at the classified level.
  • The ability to analyze information using disparate sources and tools, and provide assessments based on the analysis for improvements and to make recommendations.
  • The ability to communicate effectively orally and in a written format and perform liaison with intelligence personnel.
  • The ability to prepare a variety of recurring and special reports, briefings, and information papers.
  • The ability to work effectively with tact and discretion with federal and contractor management, senior managers, and high-level personnel internally and externally.
  • The selection of an individual for this position may be conditioned upon his or her successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
  • Must have an active TSclearance.
Salary range $80,000 - $105,000
